Hi, please help. I am new to veg growing, and I have taken the advise of a friend and used vine weevle killer on my potatoes. Now I know you are supposed to read the small print and it's a lesson learned the hard way! I know the potatoes are unedible now - but have I also poisoned the soil? I have been given different advise from different garden centres. Some say leave it for 4 - 6 months - others say it's best to get rid of it. It's a lot of soil to waste! Cath.

The soil and wet weather will get rid of the vine weevil liquid (neutralise it), I would leave it for 6 months to a year, but you can still grow plants (flowers) there but not vegetables!

You just need to grow them someware else, in tubs or strong plastic bags! Try not to use chemicals on vegetables and go organic!

Soil removal is not necessary and will cost you thousands of pounds to do so.
